Nomadic State of Mind, a grassroots handmade sandal and accessories company founded by Chris Anderson, began its voyage in the late '90s. In the early years, we ran the business out of a 1969 VW bus, which also served as Chris' summer home. While we have come a long way since those van days, our philosophy has stayed consistent – "If it is done right in the beginning, it will last a long time."

Our products are unique because they are vegan-friendly, cruelty-free, and handcrafted from recycled and sustainable materials. We love what we do because a love for the world we live in isn't just a state of mind – it's a way of living. That's why all our products are made in a socially and eco-conscious way. Nomadic State of Mind was built from the heart, and that's apparent throughout the structure of the company. Our roots were formed setting up sandal shops at outdoor music festivals across the country.

Our vegan shoes are designed to enhance your Nomadic-senses. The JC Sandals feature an adjustable back strap and a six cross-strap design, accentuating the idea of travel and freedom. The Mountain Mamma Sandals have a two-cord stranded rope knot design that is stylish, long-lasting, adjustable, and lightweight. The Romano Sandals boast one of our most secure-fitting designs with five points of adjustability. The Woodstock Sandals are super soft, machine washable, vegan, and lightweight. The Lounger Sandals offer free toes, more support, an adjustable backstrap, and a sweet design on top.

These sandals are comfy, flexible, and durable enough for any adventure. From the beach to the sidewalks around the world, they provide comfort and stability. Crafted by artisans from super-soft rope, our sandals will mold to the shape of your foot. Our cruelty-free handbags are created with recycled materials such as rope, sails, and coffee sacks. We also offer whimsical, colorful keychains, uniquely handcrafted rope rugs, cozy rope hammocks, and lightweight yoga mat holders.

Our products are vegan and cruelty-free. The rope we use is partly reclaimed polypropylene cord, made in North Carolina, which we found to be the best and most consistent option for quality sandals. The soles are Vibram, chosen for their durability and worldwide reputation. Excessive packaging is avoided, as we believe it is a waste of resources.
